A Thousand Word Journey in a Twitter World
A thousand words?! Way too many words in our Twitter world, right? Maybe, depends on how you look at it. They say a photo is worth a thousand words, they’ll be some of those. And, I’ve written a few stories- some with just a few words, others with a few more. They’ll be some of those, too.
Welcome to my little corner of the Internet. I’ve been looking for a new place to call my own. For a while, my Facebook page provided that space- till it didn’t. I’ve been looking for something different, a place to grow, where I can collect and share the stories and photos I capture along the way of this thing called life.
So, I set out to find my way on a new path. The first hardest thing about this journey seems to have been putting a name to it! Not as simple as I thought. The possibilities seemed endless, yet many were claimed. I was nearly ready to just move along, when “Captured Word” came to me. The name found its way into my heart and took root.
But why “Captured Word”? What does that even mean? Let me explain.
Captured– in photography, a “capture” is another name for a photo, for capturing a moment in time. I am an enthusiast photographer, eager to capture memories that are meaningful or beautiful or in some way touch my heart.
Word– this part of the name is twofold. I often write stories about the photos I take, about why they were taken, where they were taken, or what they mean to me. Secondly, when an image reminds me of a verse from God’s Word, I pair them together.
Captured Word: seeking to capture the images and the words to my own story and maybe encourage others through His Word when I can.
When I take a step back and look at the things I love besides my wonderful family, they all fall under the umbrella of “stories”. Faith, Photography, Genealogy. Each of these areas of interest have a story to tell and each of them are an important part of my story.
The second hardest thing about this journey has been everything else, since I am not a website developer! I sure hope when I post this, it comes out as planned. 🙂 Please be patient as I learn to decorate my new home.
I hope that in some small way this journey on Captured Word will encourage you, or bring a smile to your heart, or a moment of joy to your life.
Won’t you come along with me?
